Blooming Haddington Win Gold in 2021 Keep Scotland Beautiful Awards

We are delighted to announce we won a Gold medal in our category of Medium Town in the 2021 Keep Scotland Beautiful Awards.

Blooming Haddington would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in preparing the town for the judges visit. This includes the dedicated team of volunteers who give up their time, East Lothian Council, the businesses of Haddington who sponsor hanging baskets and containers, Amisfield and St Marys Pleasance gardens and the local community for their continued support and generous donations. 

Blooming Haddington are a group of enthusiastic volunteers keen to make Haddington a more beautiful place, to live, work and visit. Blooming Haddington was established in 2013 and has achieved success in both the Keep Scotland Beautiful and Britain in Bloom competitions.

Winning the best Medium Town category in Beautiful Scotland 2015 and then going on to win the best Town category in the UK RHS Britain in Bloom finals in 2016. The groups’ story now inspires other community groups who want to take part in the annual competition.

In 2016 and 2017 we achieved a Gold medal from Keep Scotland Beautiful in the medium town category.


In Keep Scotland Beautiful 2018 we were delighted to not only receive another Gold medal we also won the Best Medium Town category. This award was made all the more special as the Keep Scotland Beautiful Award Ceremony was hosted by East Lothian Council in the stunning St Mary’s Parish Church.

The winners of the Best in Category are invited to take part in the following years Britain in Bloom Competition and Blooming Haddington again celebrated success with the award of a Gold Medal and also Best in the town category in the Britain in Bloom competition 2019.

There was no competition held in 2020 however Blooming Haddington have registered to take part in Keep Scotland Beautiful 2021 where the theme for this year is Climate and Nature Friendly.
